Hungarian Rectors’ Conference
Project Closing Conference of the EU funded project PROCSEE (Professional Higher Education Excellence Central and South-Eastern Europe) was held by the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference on the 22nd of November 2018, at the Aula Magna of Eötvös Loránd University.
The project examined the challenges of Professional Higher Education (PHE) in the Central and South-Eastern European (CEE) region, and the ways to handle these challenges through three years since April 2016. Regional challenges have been determined in the Priority Challenges Statement. Project partners then collected best practices, and selected the relevant ones as a basis to provide solutions for the existing challenges in the region. Discussions and analysis resulted in the Policy Directions for PHE in CSEE document that contains recommendations with a focus on the region. Possible ways to apply regional recommendations nationally were discussed five times in 2018 during Committee meetings with the inclusion of Hungarian Stakeholders, facilitated by the national experts, László Dinya, Anna Medve, György Wéber and Réka Racskó. Applicable recommendations were summarized then through the Project Closing Conference.
Besides the introduction of the ways to handle current challenges of PHE, presentations about a few Hungarian good practices – such as the cooperation of AUDI and the Széchenyi István University, the aviator degree program and the cooperation with LEGO at the University of Nyíregyháza – made the event more colorful.
